Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations, maintain inventory, and assist in coordinating medications across units. In this role you will perform medication reconciliation, verify patient histories, ensure accuracy of orders, participate in safety and compliance initiatives, and assist with technician training.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma/GED with effective July 1, 2026; upon hire and before start date, registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician through the PA State Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum 4 years pharmacy experience as a pharmacy technician or completion of a pharmacy technician training program and 3 years equivalent experience.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or ExCPT Pharmacy Technician - National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required.

Responsabilités

• OPERATIONS: Perform general pharmacy technician duties and all other duties as assigned. Maintain adequate inventory levels and records in specialized areas; participate as unit-based technicians coordinating medications in medication rooms and assisting in medication delivery and patient medication history.
• Medication Reconciliation: Coordinate interviews to obtain a medication history, verify accuracy, and enter history into the computer system.
• Administration: Scheduling and workflow; maintain a master technician schedule, manage timekeeping, and act as contact for incident/accident reports and payroll questions.
• TRAINING: Coordinate technician orientation, training, security access to pharmacy systems and in-service education; assist with competency documentation.
• SAFETY: Participate in performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts and help develop policies and procedures.

PA State Board Pharmacy Technician registration

4 years pharmacy experience or completion of a pharmacy technician training program and 3 years equivalent experience
