Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Arizona Pharmacy Technician Trainee license must be obtained within one year of hire.
- CPR (Heartsaver/HSCPR) or BLS certification required.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists by filling orders and preparing labels.
- Coordinate with healthcare team to address pharmacy concerns.
- Clarifies orders and documents pertinent information clearly and concisely.
- Complies with Federal and State statutes and regulations for pharmacy practice.
- Prepares and delivers medications to patient care areas and ancillary units.
- Processes patient charges for pharmaceuticals as required.
- Replenishes medicine supply carts and automated dispensing devices.
- Compounds, labels and packages pharmaceuticals.
- Counts, packages and labels unit doses for pharmacist inspection.
- Enters or retrieves data from established computer files.
- Maintains competencies as designated by the Department of Pharmacy.
