Job summary

Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists with processing and preparing prescriptions, pulling medications, and entering charges into the computer. You will support pharmacy operations and deliver medications to patient care areas and ancillary units.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, Arizona Pharmacy Technician license, 1 year of experience, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent.
One year of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
Must be 21 years or older due to company car.
Licensed by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
Arizona driver’s license required.
CPR/BLS or Heartsaver CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists with filling orders and preparing labels.
Deliver medications to patient care areas and ancillary units.
Replenish supply carts and automated dispensing devices; ensure essential drugs are stocked.
Compound, label, and package pharmaceuticals.
Count and package unit doses for inspection by Pharmacists.
Use aseptic technique in the designated hood.
Enter or retrieve data from the pharmacy computer system.
Maintain competencies as designated by the department.
Process patient charges for pharmaceuticals as required (retail).
Adhere to TMCH safety, confidentiality, and policy standards.
Perform related duties as assigned.
