Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• One year of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Arizona driver’s license; licensed by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Heartsaver CPR (HSCPR or HSFACPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists pharmacists as directed, including filling orders and preparing labels.
• Prepares and delivers to patient care areas and ancillary units.
• Replenishes medicine supply carts/automated dispensing devices; ensures essential drugs are stocked.
• Compounds, labels, and packages pharmaceuticals.
• Counts, packages, and labels unit doses and fills routine orders for inspection by Pharmacists.
• Uses aseptic technique in appropriate hood.
• Enters or retrieves data from computer files.
• Maintains competencies as designated by Department of Pharmacy.
