Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Accurately selects, prepares, and labels medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks and daily pharmacy operations.
• Screens phone calls and routes as needed with proper etiquette.
• Supports procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
• Completes documentation for removing, stocking, and wasting controlled substances.
• Performs nonsterile compounding following USP standards where applicable.
• May perform sterile IV admixture using proper aseptic technique where applicable.
• Inspects storage areas for policy adherence and safety.
• Records medication admission histories and data entry into the pharmacy system.
• May participate in quality improvement initiatives and training of technicians.
• Abides by policies and regulatory standards and supports area leaders.
