Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in preparation and distribution of medications in a retail pharmacy setting in Wisconsin. You will handle labeling, medication distribution, and assist with inventory control while ensuring compliance with USP standards.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, state board registration/licensure, and certification within 18 months (CPhT or ExCPT).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy per state of employment requirements.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) or National Healthcareer Association (ExCPT) certification within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications for patients, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assist with medication distribution tasks and insurance verification processes.
• Screen calls and route them using proper telephone etiquette and voicemail procedures.
• Support inventory control, procurement, and outdate checking; document removal, stocking, and waste of controlled substances.
