Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System, part of Trinity Health, is hiring a Retail Pharmacy Technician under Ohio Administrative Code guidelines. The role supports pharmacists in preparing and delivering medications and managing medication-related processes.

The position emphasizes accurate compounding, timely distribution, insurance processing, and collaboration with the pharmacy team. Completion of CPTB/PTCB certifications and a state registration is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) certification by NHA and registration with State Board of Pharmacy required.
• PTCB certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy required.
• Six months of experience in a retail or hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy.
• Must be 18 years or older with no felony convictions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacists in retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of patient-specific medications.
• Assist with enrollment and processing of Meds2Beds patient medications.
• Maintain inventory and drug stock.
• Assist with medication-related issues and prior authorizations.
• Document distribution of medication for proper use and reimbursement.
• Enter/retrieve information in electronic health record or prescription system.
• Process insurance claims.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: Position Purpose: Retail Pharmacy Technician, within the scope of the Ohio Administrative Code, will provide timely, accurate, cost effective, and patient-centric pharmaceutical care under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist

What you will do:

• Will assist Pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications for patient administration which includes: Accurate preparation of patient medications
• Accurate and timely delivery of patient specific medications
• Assist with enrollment and processing of Meds2Beds patient medications
• Maintain inventory, medication replenishments, and drug stock
• Assist the Pharmacist with medication or patient care related issues
• Assist the Pharmacist with prior authorizations for medications
• Documents the distribution of medication for proper use and reimbursement in accordance with department policy.
• Enter information into and retrieving information from an electronic health record or prescription processing computer system.
• Insurance claims processing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Licensure / Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)
• Experience: Six months of experience in a retail pharmacy or a hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions, per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42
• Maintains registration throughout the course of employment
