Job summary

Upham's Community Care in Boston, MA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support safe, accurate dispensing under a licensed pharmacist. You will handle prescription prep, data entry in Liberty and EPIC, and patient communications while maintaining high standards of privacy and infection control.

This full-time role requires MA license and ideally CPhT, with opportunities to contribute to health equity in the community.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Active Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License required.
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred.
Minimum of one year of experience in a retail, outpatient, or health center pharmacy preferred.
Familiarity with Liberty or similar software and EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in processing, filling, and labeling prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
Retrieve, count, pour, weigh, measure, and sometimes mix medications under direct supervision.
Input and maintain prescription and patient data in the Liberty software and EPIC EHR.
Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance representatives to resolve medication-related issues.
Support patients in understanding medication pick-up, delivery, and refill processes with cultural sensitivity.
Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring for expiration dates.
Prepare medications for automation systems as assigned.
Follow privacy, PHI, infection control, and regulatory standards.
