Job summary

Bayview Physicians Group in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a capable administrative professional to support physicians in a busy outpatient setting. You will handle patient interactions, processing refills and prior authorizations, and coordinate with pharmacy partners.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, knowledge of medical terminology and insurance payors, and the ability to work as part of a team across satellite offices. Full-time benefits and competitive pay are offered.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service
• Performs general administrative duties as requested by physicians and office managers
• Processes prior authorizations and refill requests in the Electronic Medical Record system
• Assists in connecting patients with various patient assistance programs offered
• Maintains medication samples onsite and tracks dispensing
• Establishes and maintains relationships with pharmaceutical representatives
• Takes incoming calls from pharmacies to provide refill authorizations, answer questions about medication interactions and clarify prescriptions
• Takes incoming phone calls from patients and assists them with medication concerns or takes messages for the physician.
