Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers seeks an experienced Pharmacy Supervisor (IV Admixture) to lead the sterile compounding team in our West Valley oncology practice. You will oversee daily operations, ensure patient safety, and maintain compliance with regulations while mentoring technicians.

The role combines hands-on IV admixture duties with leadership, scheduling, audits, and cost controls to support high-quality infusion services. A strong credentialed tech with supervisory mindset is ideal.

Qualifications

• Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician License is required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CphT) is required.
• 5+ years of IV compounding experience or graduation from an accredited IV Admixture program.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and medication safety standards.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise IV Admixture Technicians and mentor the team.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
• Manage staffing schedules and coverage.
• Ensure aseptic technique, PPE, and regulatory compliance.

Pharmacy Supervisor (IV Admixture)

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Supervisor (IV Admixture) for our multi-specialty oncology practice in the West Valley. In this role, lead our sterile compounding team, oversee daily operations, and ensure the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance. We are looking for experienced Pharmacy Technicians with IV Admixture experience ready to take the next step in their career as a leader where you 'll combine your technical expertise with team development, to support exceptional oncology and infusion pharmacy services.

Leadership & Team Development

• Supervise, mentor, and support IV Admixture Technicians.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
• Manage staffing schedules, PTO requests, and call-out coverage.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in leadership meetings and provide weekly operational reports.

Pharmacy Operations & Compliance

• Prepare and compound sterile medications as needed.
• Serve as a technical resource for pharmacy, nursing, and clinical staff.
• Ensure compliance with aseptic technique standards, PPE requirements, and pharmacy regulations.
• Conduct quality assurance audits, including prescription accuracy, temperature logs, equipment certifications, and medication expiration monitoring.
• Maintain SDS documentation and drug information resources.

Inventory & Financial Stewardship

• Oversee medication inventory control and month-end reporting.
• Coordinate drug purchasing and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Monitor waste management and redistribution processes.
• Track equipment repair and acquisition activities.

Required Qualifications

• Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician License
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CphT)
• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of IV compounding experience or graduation from an accredited IV Admixture Technician program
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, pharmaceutical calculations, and medication safety standards
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pharmacy technology systems
• Valid Driver's License and ability to travel throughout the Metro Phoenix area
