Mercy Hospital South is hiring a Pharmacy Technician (Tech I–III) to assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding and dispensing medications. The technician is accountable to the supervising pharmacist and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations to ensure patient safety.

Tech I requires a high school diploma and Missouri license eligibility; Tech II adds certification (CPhT) and more experience; Tech III requires 3 years of experience and CPhT certification.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Active Missouri Board of Pharmacy registration or willingness to register by first day, including fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Tech I: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Tech II: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred; Certification: CPhT (PTCB).
• Tech III: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required; Certification: CPhT (PTCB).

Full Time

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

Qualifications:

Tech I

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other: Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.

Tech II

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 1-year relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Tech III

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure: Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience: 3-year relevant pharmacy experience required
