Job summary

Centurion is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician at Jefferson City Correctional Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. The role reports to a Licensed Pharmacist and supports clinical and administrative staff to meet the Pharmacy Department goals.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and L1MA/Pharmacy Technician certification, with CPR/BLS/AED and TB documentation. Background checks and security clearance are required; corrections experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Typing prescription data into the pharmacy computerized filing system.
• Maintaining a well-stocked pharmacy and ensuring proper operation.
• Faxing prescription orders to the contracted pharmacy for processing.
• Maintaining pharmacy files on prescriptions, requisitions, medication logs, and related records.

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Missouri Department of Corrections.

We are currently seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Jefferson City Correctional Center located in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist to aid and assist the Pharmacist in assigned duties, including interacting with healthcare professionals and corrections and administrative staff to achieve the goals of the Pharmacy Department.

Essential Duties:

• Typing prescription data into the pharmacy computerized filing system


• Ensuring proper maintenance and operation of a well-stocked pharmacy


• Ensuring prescription orders are faxed to the contracted pharmacy for processing


• Maintaining pharmacy files on prescriptions, requisitions, medication logs, drug and patient information, purchase orders, and other records as required by the Pharmacist

• High school diploma or GED.


• Certification as a L1MA or pharmacy tech is required.


• Must show current tuberculosis documentation, must be appropriately certified in first aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Basic Life Support (BLS), and automated external defibrillator (AED) use.


• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.


• One-year work experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.


• Experience in a correctional environment preferred.
