Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician 2 – Medication History to join the team. This role is full-time on a rotating evening shift from 12pm to 10pm, 7 on/7 off (Wednesday–Tuesday).

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• One year inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• Virginia Pharmacy Technician registration or Pharmacy intern license; BLS within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies.
• Accurately pre-packs medications and restocks code cart and stock kits.
• Restocks assigned areas and uses inventory management procedures.
• Orders items and properly stocks shelves; processes returns and identifies vendor errors.
• Accurately fills automated dispensing devices and unit doses.
• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications.

Pharmacy Technician 2 J Ob Responsibilities

• Maintains an adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies.


• Accurately pre-packs medications and restocks code cart and stock kits.


• Restocks assigned areas, put away unused medications in addition to utilizing want book and associated inventory management procedures.


• Orders items, properly stocks shelves, processes returns and identifies vendor errors.


• Accurately fills automated dispensing devices and unit dose pick, first doses and floor stock.


• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications accurately.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School or GED.


• Experience: One (1) year inpatient pharmacy experience.


• Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Requirement

• Experience: M edication History/ Patient education or counseling experience .


• Epic experience.
