Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the team as a full-time member. The role operates Monday through Friday with days and evenings in rotation and every other weekend to cover essential pharmacy operations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Certification: VA Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy intern license. BLS within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies.
• Accurately pre-packs medications and restocks code cart and stock kits.
• Restocks assigned areas; uses want book and inventory procedures.
• Orders items, stocks shelves, processes returns and identifies vendor errors.
• Fills automated dispensing devices and unit doses accurately.
• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications.

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join the team.

This role will be full-time Monday - Friday, Days/Evenings rotating shifts. Every other weekend.

Pharmacy Technician Job Responsibilities:

• Maintains an adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies.
• Accurately pre-packs medications and restocks code cart and stock kits.
• Restocks assigned areas put away unused medications in addition to utilizing want book and associated inventory management procedures.
• Orders items, properly stocks shelves, processes returns and identifies vendor errors.
• Accurately fills automated dispensing devices and unit dose pick, first doses and floor stock.
• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications accurately.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School or GED.
• Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: One (1) year experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
