Job summary

Optum is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the Genoa mental health pharmacy, primarily dispensing prescriptions and performing clerical duties under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

The position is located at 115 W Bond St Astoria, OR 97103 with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm schedule. The job offers a sign-on bonus for external applicants and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in Oregon.
• Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and clinic staff.
• Receive, prepare and fill prescription orders under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Order, receive and store incoming pharmacy supplies.
• Receive and process wholesaler medication orders.
• Verify medication stock and update inventory records in the computer.
• Assist Pharmacist to ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
• Perform clerical duties related to the department.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

We seek a Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the Genoa mental health pharmacy, primarily through dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties while under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Location: 115 W Bond St Astoria, OR 97103

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm PST with lunch from 12:00pm to 1:00pm PST

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
• Receive, prepare and fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
• Order, receive and store incoming pharmacy supplies
• Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
• Verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records
• Work with the Pharmacist to assist in pharmacy functions and keep the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
• Perform various clerical duties relating to the department
• Communicate with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
• Prepare orders for delivery via mail
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Oregon
• Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification
• 1+ years of pharmacy technician experience
• Long term care pharmacy experience
• Retail pharmacy experience
• Inventory management experience

The salary range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment.
