Job Description

Duration: 4+ Months (Temp to Hire)

Position summary:

• Translate prescriptions filled out by the MDO and enter them into the patient’s profile.
• Look for patient’s allergies, therapies, and current medication on different forms and enter them into the patient profile history.
• Verify all information is complete on the prescription and all necessary information is entered into the patient’s profile.
• Follow all necessary guidelines to ensure laws and regulations are followed. Vary work duties according to business needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Minimum requirements to competently perform the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Previous Pharmacy Tech experience is preferred.
• Experience in a retail/specialty pharmacy setting is very helpful.
• Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment is necessary.
• Good organizational ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent phone etiquette skills and ability to interact professionally with others.
• Must maintain confidentiality on all patient health information.
• Must be able to follow and execute all policies and procedures.
• Pharmacy technician certification per state guidelines, CPhT preferred.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within pharmacy guidelines is helpful.
• Good typing skills and computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
