HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician who will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support unit dose drug distribution and intravenous admixture programs.

Responsibilities include processing data, preparing IV meds, stocking dispensing systems, and delivering supplies to nursing units. Licensure or completion of training must be achieved within 6 months of employment.

• PharmTech license or CPhT certification must be obtained within 6 months of start date.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, and/or director of pharmacy services, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program. Responsible to maintain confidential reports, enter and retrieve data utilizing the computer system, prepare intravenous medication, including but not limited to, chemotherapeutic preparations, hyper-alimentations and antibiotics, fill automated medication dispensing system with a supply of unit dose medications, procure, and fill requests for pharmaceutical supplies and deliver supplies to nursing units. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

What qualifications you will need:
