Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital in Summerville, SC is hiring an entry-level Pharmacy Technician to support the hospital's unit dose distribution and IV admixture programs under supervision.

Under the pharmacist's guidance, you will prepare IV meds, assist with data entry, maintain records, and help ensure accuracy and safety in medication handling. No travel, no prior experience required; licensure or certification must be obtained within six months.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, and/or director of pharmacy services, performs a variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program. Responsible to maintain confidential reports, enter and retrieve data utilizing the computer system, prepare intravenous medication, including but not limited to, chemotherapeutic preparations, hyper-alimentations and antibiotics, fill automated medication dispensing system with a supply of unit dose medications, procure, and fill requests for pharmaceutical supplies and deliver supplies to nursing units. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

What qualifications you will need:
