Job summary

Mosaic Pharmacy Service in Sterling, VA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our on-site pharmacy operations team. You will talk with patients, assist pharmacists, fill orders, and help ensure safe, accurate medication workflows.

This role requires an active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license, eligibility to work in the U.S., and a detail-oriented mindset. You will handle packaging, inventory, and coordination with insurers to resolve issues while supporting nationwide shipment of patient

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Speak with patients by phone about medications and drug coverage with care and accuracy.

In this role, you will coordinate care across the patient, provider, and pharmacy, speaking directly with patients about their medications, filling orders in adherence packaging, and working alongside pharmacists to keep medication regimens safe and simple.

What You'll Do

• Speak with patients by phone about their medications, answering routine questions on drug coverage, pricing, and related issues with care and attention to detail.
• Identify when a patient should speak with a pharmacist and triage to the pharmacist appropriately.
• Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy.
• Process third-party claims according to the terms of each patient’s drug plan,and contact insurance companies and PBMs to resolve claims issues.
• Operate automated packaging machinery to pre-sort, package, and restock medications.
• Order and stock drugs and supplies, assemble supplies for clinical areas, stock crash carts, and complete other inventory duties.
• Pack and ship patient orders nationwide.
• Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by following all procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Compensation

The expected pay range for this position is $24.00 to $26.00 per hour. Actual compensation within the range is determined by factors including experience, skills, and internal equity.

What We're Looking For

Required

• Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license, with proof of active licensure.
• Ability to work on-site in Sterling, Virginia.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and patient information.
• Clear, professional communication skills for speaking with patients by phone.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company-sponsored visa sponsorship.

Preferred

• Experience with retail, mail-order, or long-term care pharmacy data entry and pharmacy dispensing software.
• Experience with Parata or other pharmacy automation systems.
