Reliant Healthcare is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This position supports daily operations at our specialty pharmacy by assisting with medication preparation, pharmacy workflow, billing, inventory, shipping, and delivery under the supervision of the Pharmacist-in-Charge or staff pharmacist.
The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, customer service, regulatory compliance, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, fill, and dispense medications under the supervision of the Pharmacist-in-Charge or staff pharmacist.
- Perform pharmacy technician responsibilities within the scope permitted by applicable laws and regulations.
- Support Reliant Healthcare's regional specialty pharmacy program.
- Assist with pharmacy workflow, billing, and inventory activities using PioneerRx.
- Process and coordinate the shipping and delivery of medications.
- Help ensure medications and supplies are packaged, documented, and delivered accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with physicians, home care nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Assist with pharmacy billing activities involving commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Apply payer rules, coverage requirements, and pharmacy procedures when completing assigned work.
- Maintain required pharmacy records, logs, and documentation.
- Follow all pharmacy policies and procedures, HIPAA requirements, state Board of Pharmacy regulations, and applicable URAC and ACHC standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive health information.
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, insurance carriers, and internal team members.
- Assist pharmacists and other pharmacy team members with daily operational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current pharmacy technician license, registration, and/or certification required by the applicable state Board of Pharmacy.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication-processing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and patient safety.
- Ability to follow pharmacist direction, established procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with pharmacists and other team members.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Preferred
- Experience in specialty, infusion, mail-order, or high-volume pharmacy operations.
- Experience with PioneerRx or a similar pharmacy management system.
- Knowledge of pharmacy billing, inventory, shipping, and medication delivery processes.
- Familiarity with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, URAC, and ACHC requirements.
