Reliant Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Pharmacy Technician to support the daily operations of our pharmacy team. This position works closely with pharmacists and pharmacy leadership to coordinate workflow, monitor work queues, support scheduling and reporting, and help ensure pharmacy activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys coaching others, solving workflow challenges, and stepping in wherever support is needed. Success in this role requires strong pharmacy knowledge, organization, accountability, and a positive approach to leading and supporting the technician team.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy leadership with the day-to-day activities and administration of pharmacy operations.
- Prepare and maintain daily and weekly pharmacy reports.
- Assist with pharmacy scheduling and daily staffing coordination.
- Review technician checklists to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor pharmacy work queues and identify delays, deficiencies, or other workflow concerns.
- Communicate workflow issues and performance concerns to Pharmacy Managers.
- Coach, train, and mentor new and existing pharmacy technicians.
- Share best practices and provide ongoing support to help strengthen technician performance.
- Provide pharmacy leadership with objective feedback regarding technician performance, development, and training needs.
- Fill workflow gaps and perform pharmacy technician duties as operational needs require.
- Help maintain an organized, efficient, and collaborative pharmacy environment.
- Demonstrate a positive, solutions-focused attitude and model professional behavior for the team.
- Support pharmacy billing, inventory, shipping, and delivery processes as needed.
- Follow all applicable HIPAA requirements, pharmacy policies and procedures, state Board of Pharmacy regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive health information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current pharmacy technician license, registration, and/or certification required by the applicable state Board of Pharmacy.
- Strong working knowledge of pharmacy operations and workflow.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and monitor multiple work queues and responsibilities.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback professionally and respectfully.
- Ability to work independently while supporting pharmacists, pharmacy leadership, and other technicians.
- Dependable, adaptable, and willing to assist wherever needed.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Preferred
- Previous lead, training, or pharmacy team coordination experience.
- Experience in specialty, infusion, mail-order, or high-volume pharmacy operations.
- Experience with PioneerRx or a similar pharmacy management system.
- Knowledge of pharmacy billing, inventory, shipping, and medication delivery processes.
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, third-party payers, URAC, and ACHC requirements.
