Job summary

Avenue360 Health And Wellness seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the daily operations of our pharmacy within a community health setting in Houston, TX. The role requires precise prescription processing, inventory control, and exceptional patient service.

The technician will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and maintaining a clean, efficient work area. Relevant licenses and certification are required to join our team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
• PTCB Certification required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency with pharmacy software and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner, including entering prescription information into the pharmacy's computer system, counting and packaging medications, and labeling prescriptions with patient information.
• Follow federal and state laws, professional standards, and ethical principles. Additionally, maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhere to infection-control protocols, and ensure medications are handled correctly to prevent errors.
• Manage inventory levels of medications, ordering medications as necessary and ensuring that inventory is properly rotated and stored.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients.
• Participate in quality assurance activities to enhance pharmacy operations.

The pharmacy technician is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in the day-to-day operations of a pharmacy, including processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing customer service to patients. The pharmacy technician must comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice.

Education, Licensure/Certification

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician license
• PTCB Certification
