Job summary

GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY seeks a dedicated pharmacy associate to process prescriptions, manage inventory and assist customers. The role requires a high school diploma and PTCB certification, with preference for retail/pharmacy experience.

Flexibility for mornings, evenings, and weekends is expected. Candidates will work under the supervision of the pharmacist, handling medication preparation, customer service, and basic network duties.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • PTCB National Certification Education required.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting preferred.
  • Must be professional, self-motivated and have strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, customer service and computer skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees
  • Ability to type and operate a Microsoft Windows based computer.
  • Must complete and maintain all recertification requirements for continued licensure and/or certification, and retain updated copies as applicable.
  • Must demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Certification as an Interpreter is preferred and ability to provide bilingual patient care is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process pseudoephedrine sales accurately.
  • Check for outdated medications and notify pharmacist of low inventories.
  • Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
  • Unpack and organize incoming merchandise and restock shelves under pharmacist supervision.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, work areas and shelves.
  • Retrieve, label, count and reconstitute prescription medications.
  • Receive prescriptions and ensure pharmacist has data to fill orders.
  • Notify pharmacist of problems or malfunctions.
  • Handle customer problems calmly and refer to pharmacist as needed.
  • Greet customers and assist in locating over‑the‑counter products.
  • Provide completed orders to customers and route calls appropriately.
  • Communicate with physicians, patients and third-parties (insurance).
  • Access, input and retrieve information through pharmacy network to maintain records.
  • Process third-party and Medicare DME insurance claims.
  • Prepare reports related to sales, patient records and inventory.
  • Maintain records related to inventories, receipts, purchases and deliveries.
  • Collect co-payments and comply with procedures.
  • Assist bilingual staff with interpretation/translation if qualified.
  • Help patients sign up for Migrant Clinician Network if qualified.

Summary
Medication
  • Properly process pseudoephedrine sales.
  • Check for outdated medications and notify the pharmacist of low inventories.

Maintain Pharmacy inventory:
  • Unpack and organize incoming merchandise, including sorting items that require special handling.
  • Package and label products under the supervision of the pharmacist and restocking shelves.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, work areas, and shelves.
Medication Preparation
  • Retrieve, pour, count, label, and reconstitute prescription medications.
  • Receive prescriptions to be filled and ensuring that the Pharmacist has the data necessary to fill the orders.
  • Notify the pharmacist of any problems or malfunctions.
Customer Focus
  • Handle customer problems/ concerns in a calm manner and refer them to the pharmacist as necessary.
  • Greet and assist customers and helping them to locate over-the-counter products as needed.
  • Provide completed orders to customers.
  • Redirect customer calls to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Communicate with physicians, patients, and third-parties, such as insurance companies.
Pharmacy Network
  • Access, input, and retrieve information through the pharmacy’s computer network to maintain accurate records and patient / client profiles.
  • Process and prepare third-party and Medicare DME insurance claims.
  • Prepare reports related to sales, usage, patient records, and inventory.
  • Maintain records related to inventories, receipts, purchases, and deliveries.
  • Collect co-payments.
  • Comply with established procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Chief Pharmacy Officer or the Pharmacist in Charge.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES ASSIGNED TO DESIGNATED BILINGUAL STAFF
  • 1. If qualified, perform interpretation/translation services for ESRHS centers.
  • 2. If qualified, assist patients with signing up for the Migrant Clinician Network.
