Job summary

ESRHS is seeking a Pharmacy Assistance Specialist to help patients obtain medications through manufacturer assistance programs, coupons, and 340B drug pricing programs. The role collaborates with various pharmaceutical companies and community pharmacists to secure access for indigent patients.

You will meet with patients to collect information for applications, complete forms, track orders, and participate in staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to talk and hear; regular communication.
• Moderate physical activity; ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to lift, carry and handle equipment and materials as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with pharmaceutical companies and community pharmacists to obtain medications for indigent patients in a timely fashion, using TPC, TPC mobile APP or Google to locate drug manufacturers.
• Complete applications for each pharmaceutical company using their guidelines.
• Meet with patients to collect information to complete applications and sign forms.
• Track medications ordered and re-ordered.
• Present at staff meetings quarterly to discuss changes and promote Pharmacy Assistance.
• May participate in prior authorization process as requested by Chief Compliance Officer.
• Backup for Pharmacy Assistance Specialists at other centers.
• Track coupons, certificates and forms from certain companies.
• Report pharmacy assistance usage.
• Other duties and tasks as directed by the Chief Compliance Officer.

Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
• This is a moderately active role, which requires the ability to lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds, bending and standing as necessary.
• Must be able to lift, carry and handle equipment, supplies and other work site materials based on position duty requirements.

Summary

• Work with different pharmaceutical companies and community pharmacists to obtain medication for indigent patients in a timely fashion, utilizing TPC, TPC mobile APP or Google to locate drug manufacturer and track down obscure companies.
• Complete applicationfor each pharmaceutical company using their application form andaccording to their guidelines with which to comply.
• Meet with patients to ascertain information to complete application and to sign necessary forms.
• Track medications ordered and re-ordered.
• Present at Staff Meetings, at least quarterly, to discuss changes and promote Pharmacy Assistance.
• May participate in prior authorization process as requested by Chief Compliance Officer on an as needed basis.
• Backup for Pharmacy Assistance Specialists at other centers.
• Track coupons, certificates and forms from certain companies.
• Report pharmacy assistance usage.
• Other duties and tasks as directed by the Chief Compliance Officer.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES ASSIGNED TO DESIGNATED BILINGUAL STAFF

1. If qualified, perform interpretation/translation services for ESRHS centers.

2. If qualified, assist patients with signing up for the Migrant Clinician Network.
