Job summary

PharmcareUSA in Denver is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with dispensing and IV compounding for LTC patients. The role involves accurate filling, regulatory compliance, and assisting with deliveries to facilities.

The candidate must be licensed as a pharmacy technician in the state and available for full-time work, including weekends. Benefits are provided; pay is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacy technician required in the work state.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist with input, filling and dispensing prescriptions.
• Perform IV compounding and routine filling with accuracy.
• Fill prescriptions per regulatory rules and regulations.
• Answer calls and direct to pharmacist when needed.
• Prepare medications for delivery to facilities on schedule.
• Assist walk-in customers and route to appropriate dept.
• Assist with ordering and inventory management of medications.
• Support medication returns and E-Kit management.
• Maintain Pharmacy Technician license/certification.
• Comply with corporate initiatives and use provided tools.

Candidate must be licensed as a pharmacy technician in the state in which they will be working, and available to work Full Time, including weekends.

Essential Functions

• Assist Pharmacist with input (when appropriate), filling and dispensing of all prescriptions
• Perform all filling and/or IV compounding of prescriptions with accuracy and reasonable speed
• Fill prescriptions per rules and regulations of all regulatory entities
• Answer telephone calls, assist caller when appropriate, or enlist Pharmacist to assist if appropriate
• Prepare medications to be delivered to facility per delivery schedule
• Assist any walk-in customers or direct to appropriate department
• Assist with ordering of medications from wholesaler along with proper inventory management
• Assist with Medication Returns and E-Kit management
• Maintain Pharmacy Technician License/Certification
• Will comply with all Corporate Initiatives and utilize provided tools/resources as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

• Regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate effectively over the phone and in person;
• Must be able to see 100% of the time to recognize medications, detect inaccuracies, and observe the work of others with or without correction;
• This position is very active and requires standing for long periods, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching and stooping;
• Must be able to lift and/or transport materials weighing up to 25 pounds, up to 10% of the time;
• Must be able to tolerate normal office/pharmacy environment and exposure to various medications
