Job summary

PharmcareUSA in Hickory, NC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a full-time position with weekend rotations. You will assist pharmacists, prepare medications, and help manage inventory and deliveries to long-term care facilities.

This role requires active certification in the state of practice and a commitment to strict regulatory compliance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, FSA/HSA, PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Pharmacy Technician certification in the working state.
• Full-time position with weekend shifts on a rotating schedule.
• Experience in long-term care (LTC) settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacist with input, filling and dispensing prescriptions.
• Perform filling and IV compounding of prescriptions with accuracy.
• Fill prescriptions according to regulatory rules and regulations.
• Answer calls and assist customers or route to Pharmacist when needed.
• Prepare medications for delivery to facilities per schedule.
• Assist with medication returns and inventory management.
• Maintain Pharmacy Technician license/certification.

PharmcareUSA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician!

Pay is commensurate with experience in LTC.

Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Life Insurance, FSA/ HSA, Paid time off and Holidays available for full time employees.

Candidate must be certified as a pharmacy technician in the state in which they will be working, and available to work Full Time, including weekends, with a rotating schedule.

Essential Functions:

• Assist Pharmacist with input (when appropriate), filling and dispensing of all prescriptions
• Perform all filling and / or IV compounding of prescriptions with accuracy and reasonable speed
• Fill prescriptions per rules and regulations of all regulatory entities
• Answer telephone calls, assist caller when appropriate, or enlist Pharmacist to assist if appropriate
• Prepare medications to be delivered to facility per delivery schedule
• Assist any walk-in customers or direct to appropriate department
• Assist with ordering of medications from wholesaler along with proper inventory management
• Assist with Medication Returns and E-Kit management
• Maintain Pharmacy Technician License/Certification
• Will comply with all Corporate Initiatives and utilize provided tools/resources as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment such as calculators, copy machines and printers up to 100% of the time;
• Regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate effectively over the phone and in person;
• Must be able to see 100% of the time to recognize medications, detect inaccuracies, and observe the work of others with or without correction;
• This position is very active and requires standing for long periods, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching and stooping;
• Must be able to lift and/or transport materials weighing up to 25 pounds, up to 10% of the time;
• Must be able to tolerate normal office/pharmacy environment and exposure to various medications
