Life Tree Pharmacy is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in daily operations and medication preparation. Responsibilities include packaging, labeling, inventory maintenance, and patient delivery, under supervision.

Candidates should be registered or willing to become registered as a Technician Trainee with the state board, and must be at least 16 years old. The role requires adherence to HIPAA, FDA regulations, and a commitment to a safe, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Be a Registered Pharmacy Technician or a Pharmacy Technician Trainee or willing to become registered as a Technician Trainee with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy
• Be at least 16 years of age

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists in daily operations
• Package medications according to standard procedures (blister cards, unit dose, compliance packaging, vial fill)
• Maintain adequate inventory of medications and supplies
• Prepare compounds per physician orders under supervision
• Label prescriptions accurately with informational labels
• Prepare medications for delivery to customers
• Maintain environmental controls per state and federal regulations
• Adhere to HIPAA and FDA regulations and maintain a safe pharmacy environment
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and state/federal regulations

About the position

• Supports pharmacists in the daily operations of the pharmacy.
• Package medications according to standard procedures including blister cards, unit dose packaging, compliance packaging, and vial fill.
• Assists with maintenance of an adequate inventory of medications and other supplies.
• Prepares compounds per physician’s order under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Labels prescriptions accurately, including informational labels, e.g. cautionary and auxiliary labels.
• Prepares medication for delivery to customers.
• Assists in maintenance and documentation of appropriate environmental controls in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Adhere to HIPAA and FDA regulations and also maintain a clean and safe pharmacy environment.
• Strives for compliance by all staff with internal controls and state and federal regulations.
