Access Family Pharmacy in Chattanooga, TN seeks a retail pharmacy technician to join a fast-paced team. No experience required, but PTCB certification is preferred. Training in multiple roles and flexibility are essential as schedules include Saturdays on a rotating basis.

The position is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with hours from 9am–7pm (Mon–Fri) and 9am–2pm (Sat); Sundays closed. Starting pay ranges from $14 to $16 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls from patients and families and long-term care staff.

• Process insurance claims and resolve billing issues.

Access Family Pharmacy is the largest of a group of family-owned pharmacies. We are a unique employer and an even more unique pharmacy! We offer a variety of services from compounding to home medical equipment and more. We're currently looking to add a retail pharmacy technician to our team. Experience is not required, but is preferred. PTCB certification is even better. We're looking for someone who is willing to be trained in multiple roles and move around as necessary. Flexibility will be a necessary skill for success in this position, in addition to multi-tasking, attention to detail, and teamwork.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. The pharmacy hours are 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm Saturday, closed Sundays. Saturdays will be required on a rotating basis. The starting pay for this position is $14 - $16 per hour depending on experience.

Job duties

• Provide excellent customer service by answering phone calls from patients, patients’ families, and long term care facility nurses and staff
• Read, interpret, and process physician's medication orders and ensure all information is complete and accurate
• Preparing new prescription and refill requests for patients
• Aid in filling, processing, and dispensing medications
• Sort, stock, re-package and label medications
• Process insurance claims, cycle billing, and resolve billing issues when they arise
• Adhere to safety practices in order to ensure quality care for patients
• Help monitor and maintain the drug inventory through inventory control practices
• Prioritize requests and tasks
• Check for expiration dates on medications on a regular basis
• Undertake administrative tasks as assigned
• Be able to listen and understand customers while maintaining composure when dealing with upset or angry customers
