Job summary

OSF HealthCare's Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician I to assist pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately and safely. Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician license tracked by IDFPR.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or ExCPT.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred: 1 year pharmacy experience, knowledge of pharmacology terms, basic arithmetic, computer skills.

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Expected pay for a non certified pharmacy tech is $19.35- $21.78/hour.

Overview

This pharmacy technician position will support pharmacy services for Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Certified Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in ensuring medications are promptly, accurately and safely dispensed, delivered, charged and credited. Prepares and labels medications to match orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges. This position requires the Technician to be proficient in both dispensing oral medications and in preparation of I.V. solutions. Duties may vary by assigned area or shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Work involves standing, lifting and walking continually while in the process of performing duties.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School/GED

Licenses/Certifications: Pharmacy Technician license tracked by IDFPR (Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation)

Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or National Healthcareer Certification (ExCPT)

Experience: At least 18 years of age

Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: 1 year pharmacy

Demonstrates knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology

Other requirements/information: Demonstrates ability to perform and apply arithmetic calculations Intermediate computer skills.
