Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Nuclear Pharmacy Technician in Beltsville, MD to prepare prescriptions, draw doses, and manage automated tasks in a regulated nuclear environment. You will ensure QA, inventory control, and proper handling of radiopharmaceuticals while delivering patient-focused service.

The role requires MD pharmacy registration, valid driver's license, and flexibility for weekends/holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Maryland Pharmacy Technician registration or license required.
  • PTCB preferred.
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval
  • Draws doses into either a syringe or vial
  • Performs quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines
  • Receives, documents, and stores incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines
  • Maintains computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for Rx drugs
  • Assists and/or perform in the labeling of blood cell products
  • Performs general laboratory and facility clean up
  • May perform clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily records, receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records
  • Makes deliveries to accounts with company vehicles as needed
  • Speaks with customers and address questions and/or concerns via telephone
  • Works under close supervision.
  • All work is reviewed for accuracy.
  • Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

Shift/Schedule

40 hours per week Monday through Friday 2:00 am – 10:00 am. Weekends as needed. Typically once a month if needed Holidays are covered on a rotating schedule, 1-2 per year Candidate must be flexible to work different days, schedules, hours, come in early, stay late, or work overtime based on business needs. Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
  • Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle required
  • State of Maryland Pharmacy Technician registration or license required.
  • PTCB preferred
  • Experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
  • Previous IV or clean room environment experience is a plus
  • Ability to manage weight up to 75 pounds
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting, holding of small objects, and dispensing doses
  • Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks
  • Comfortable working in a nuclear environment
  • Ability to work weekends, on call, holidays, overtime, alternate days/shifts, or be in a rotation
  • Intermediate computer skills (ability to use computers and tablets)
  • May require vendor credentialing
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Pay

Pay rate: $25.00 per hour
