Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. is seeking a Nuclear Pharmacy technician for a 40-hour week with a Monday-Friday shift from 2:00 am to 10:00 am. The role includes drawing, dispensing radiopharmaceuticals, and maintaining strict regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include labeling, quality assurance, inventory management, and customer interaction. Training under licensed staff occurs, with potential for deliveries and administrative tasks. Benefit packages start with medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State Board of Pharmacy registration preferred.
• Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• IV or clean room experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares prescriptions by typing labels and obtaining Staff Pharmacist approval.
• Draws doses into a syringe or vial.
• Performs quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals.
• Receives, documents, and stores incoming/outgoing pharmaceuticals per DOT and company guidelines.
• Maintains computer inventory and records for Rx drugs.
• Assists with labeling of blood cell products; performs general lab tasks.
• Might perform clerical duties including daily records and billing records; may make deliveries.
• Speaks with customers and addresses questions via telephone.

What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health

Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Licensed.

Shift/Schedule

• 40 hours per week. This position typically operates Monday-Friday 2:00 am – 10:00 am.
• Will be part of holiday shift rotation
• Candidate must be flexible to work different days, hours and schedules based on business need.

Responsibilities

Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, you will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. Many of your duties will include:

• Prepares prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval
• Draws doses into either a syringe or vial
• Performs quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines
• Receives, documents, and stores incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines
• Maintains computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for Rx drugs
• Assists and/or perform in the labeling of blood cell products
• Performs general laboratory and facility clean up
• May perform clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily records, preparation of receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records
• Makes deliveries to accounts with company vehicles as needed
• Speaks with customers and address questions and/or concerns via telephone
• Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy. Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy preferred
• Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
• Previous IV or clean room environment experience is a plus
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting, holding of small objects, and dispensing doses
• Ability to manage weight up to 75 pounds
• May require vendor credentialing
• Valid driver's license required
• Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
• Intermediate computer skills (ability to use computers and tablets)
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks
• Comfortable working in a nuclear environment
