Cardinal Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a nuclear pharmacy role with 40 hours weekly, typically 2:00 am to 10:00 am, Mon-Fri. The position offers benefits from day one, including medical, dental, vision, 401k and PTO, with a $18.75 per hour pay rate.

Candidates must be flexible for shift changes and pass background checks and safety requirements. Responsibilities include preparing prescriptions, labeling, QA testing, inventory management, and occasional clerical duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Registration with State Board of Pharmacy preferred.
• Experience as Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• IV or clean room experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds; manual dexterity required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares prescriptions by typing labels and obtaining Staff Pharmacist approval.
• Draws doses into syringes or vials.
• Performs quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals per guidelines.
• Receives, documents, and stores incoming/outgoing pharmaceuticals per DOT/company guidelines.
• Maintains inventory records and materials usage.
• Assists with labeling blood cell products and routine lab tasks.
• Handles clerical duties, receipts, and billing records as needed.
• Delivers to accounts using company vehicles and fields customer questions.

What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health

Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Licensed.

Shift/Schedule

40 hours per week. This position typically operates Monday-Friday 2:00 am - 10:00 am. Will be part of holiday shift rotation Candidate must be flexible to work different days, hours and schedules based on business need.

Responsibilities

• Prepares prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval
• Draws doses into either a syringe or vial
• Performs quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines
• Receives, documents, and stores incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines
• Maintains computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for Rx drugs
• Assists and/or perform in the labeling of blood cell products
• Performs general laboratory and facility clean up
• May perform clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily records, preparation of receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records
• Makes deliveries to accounts with company vehicles as needed
• Speaks with customers and address questions and/or concerns via telephone
• Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy. Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy preferred
• Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
• Previous IV or clean room environment experience is a plus
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting, holding of small objects, and dispensing doses
• Ability to manage weight up to 75 pounds
• May require vendor credentialing
• Valid driver's license required
• Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
• Intermediate computer skills (ability to use computers and tablets)
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks
• Comfortable working in a nuclear environment

Pay rate: $18.75 per hour
