Job summary

Cardinal Health Nuclear Pharmacy provides radiopharmaceuticals and related drugs to medical care providers under state and federal guidelines. The team may advise physicians and nuclear medicine staff on safe, effective use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy.

The role is full-time, with a 2:00 am – 10:00 am shift, benefits from day one, and a comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
• State Board of Pharmacy registration preferred.
• Experience as Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Experience in IV or clean room environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare prescriptions by typing labels and obtaining pharmacist approval.
• Draw doses into syringes or vials.
• Perform quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals per guidelines.
• Receive, document and store pharmaceuticals per DoT and company rules.
• Maintain inventory records for Rx drugs.
• Assist in labeling blood cell products.
• General lab and facility clean-up tasks.

Job description

What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Licensed. $1,500 New Hire Sign-On Bonus Offered Shift/Schedule 40 hours per week. This position typically operates Monday-Friday 2:00 am – 10:00 am. Will be part of holiday shift rotation Candidate must be flexible to work different days, hours and schedules based on business need. This position is benefit eligible the first day of employment. Responsibilities

• Prepares prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval
• Draws doses into either a syringe or vial
• Performs quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines
• Receives, documents, and stores incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines
• Maintains computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for Rx drugs
• Assists and/or perform in the labeling of blood cell products
• Performs general laboratory and facility clean up
• May perform clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily records, preparation of receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records
• Makes deliveries to accounts with company vehicles as needed
• Speaks with customers and address questions and/or concerns via telephone
• Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy. Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy preferred
• Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
• Previous IV or clean room environment experience is a plus
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting, holding of small objects, and dispensing doses
• Ability to manage weight up to 75 pounds
• May require vendor credentialing
• Valid driver's license required
• Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
• Intermediate computer skills (ability to use computers and tablets)
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks
• Comfortable working in a nuclear environment

Pay rate

• $18.75 per hour
