Job summary

Beloit Health System is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital pharmacy team. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist in preparation, distribution, and inventory management of medications to ensure safe patient care.

This role requires Wisconsin licensure, strong attention to detail, and effective communication with the healthcare team. Per diem shifts and varied 10-hour schedules make it essential to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician licensure.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) recommended.
  • Previous hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package, label, and distribute medications under supervision.
  • Assist pharmacists by triaging calls and other tasks.
  • Enter prescription information into the pharmacy information system.
  • Stock automated dispensing cabinets and medication storage areas.
  • Deliver medications to patient care units across the hospital.
  • Assist with sterile and non-sterile medication preparation per policies.
  • Maintain medication records and documentation.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with stocking supplies.

Beloit Health System is looking to add a Pharmacy Technician to our Team!

  • Shift: 1st & 2nd combination
  • Schedule: Varied (10-hour shifts between 6:30a-9p)
  • Hours per week: Per Diem
  • Benefits Status: Not Eligible
  • Department: Pharmacy

We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital pharmacy team. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists in the preparation, distribution, and inventory management of medications to support safe and effective patient care. The ideal candidate is committed to accuracy, customer service, teamwork, and maintaining the highest standards of medication safety in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Prepare, package, label, and distribute medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Assists pharmacists by triaging phone calls and completing various other tasks as requested.
  • Process medication orders and enter prescription information into the pharmacy information system.
  • Refill and stock automated dispensing cabinets and medication storage areas.
  • Deliver medications to patient care units throughout the hospital.
  • Assist with sterile and non-sterile medication preparation in accordance with established policies and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.
  • Monitor medication inventory levels and assist with ordering and stocking supplies.
  • Remove expired medications and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Support controlled substance inventory and documentation processes.
  • Participate in medication safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accrediting standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, nursing staff, providers, and other healthcare team members.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently within computer software applications
Job Requirements
  • High School graduate for equivalent
  • Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician licensure.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) recommended.
  • Previous Pharmacy hospital technician experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and healthcare team members.
  • Maintains ethical conduct and keeps confidential personal and medical information about patients.
