University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to learn filling medication orders, deliver to patient care areas, and manage technology including PYXIS packer and control cabinets. The role includes team leadership responsibilities while ensuring efficient department operation, with both sterile and non-sterile product preparation.
The trainee must obtain a Vermont Pharmacy Tech license before starting and achieve National Certification within two years of hire.
The Pharmacy Technician Trainee, performs those duties which do not require the professional training and judgment of a pharmacist. The technician trainee will learn and demonstrate the mastery of filling medication orders, deliveries to patient care and ancillary areas, managing technology including PYXIS packer and PYXIS control cabinets, effective operation of the department while staffing as team leader, sterile and non-sterile product preparation
High School Diploma or GED required. Trainee will obtain their Pharmacy Tech license with the State of Vermont Board of Pharmacy before the start of employment. They must achieve their National Certification within two years of their date of hire.
Pharmacy experience preferred or related work experience.
