Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to lead the technician team in the SMH area. You will oversee training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and regulatory compliance under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Responsibilities include staff development, cross-training, and ensuring efficient operations across shifts. A strong background in hospital pharmacy and PTCB certification with NYS licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's preferred.
• 3 years acute hospital pharmacy experience or relevant management experience.
• Certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician program (PTCB) with NYS licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a member and leader of the pharmacy technician team.
• Oversees training and management of training materials for the area of supervision.
• Establishes the work schedule for the area of supervision and evaluates performance of direct reports.
• Ensures that all pharmacy technician functions comply with state, federal and local regulations.
• Completes activities under direct supervision and approval of a licensed pharmacist.
• Provides operational coverage to all shifts in area of primary supervision.
• Trains technicians and assesses ongoing competency in all duties in area of primary supervision.
• Manages interview and hiring process for pharmacy technicians; coordinates with leadership.
