Job summary
Mercy in Springfield, MO is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist I - CSC Repack to support pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and distributing medications using advanced automation. This role offers exposure to Central Service Center operations and opportunities to grow technical skills.
You will work under supervision, help optimize workflows, train teammates, and contribute to medication safety across Mercy's health system.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the State Board of Pharmacy, or ability to obtain registration by first day of employment.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through PTCB required within 6 months of hire.
- At least 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, compound, package, and distribute medications under supervision of licensed pharmacists.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced pharmacy automation and robotic dispensing equipment.
- Assist with inventory management, medication ordering, and workflow optimization.
- Support medication repackaging and distribution to ensure patient safety and accurate therapies.
- Utilize electronic health records and pharmacy software to support operations.
- Train and mentor new pharmacy coworkers and serve as a resource within the department.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to maintain high standards of medication safety and service excellence.
