Job Summary

The Pharmacy Tech prepares medication, upon receipt of prescription, for use within the hospital. Enters drug information into pharmacy computer to establish patient drug regimes. Purchases pharmaceuticals and stocks pharmacy and ancillary departments with medications based on par levels. Communicates drug information with nursing staff.

  • Demonstrates competency in the maintenance of a safe patient environment.
  • Demonstrates competency in performing his/her role in the event of emergency.
  • Demonstrates competency in the preparation of medications.
  • Demonstrates competency in the provision of safe patient environment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent

Minimum Experience: None

Required Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician, Texas Pharmacy Tech Registration required.

Required Licensure: None needed until certified

Nacogdoches Medical Center has been serving the East Texas community for nearly 50 years with a focus on caring for patients and a strong team environment.
