Job summary

Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare medications, enter drug information, and stock pharmacy and related departments within the hospital setting.

The role requires certification as a Pharmacy Technician and Texas registration, with emphasis on accurate drug handling, teamwork, and patient safety in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician and Texas registration required.
  • Experience not required but a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares medications upon receipt of prescriptions for hospital use.
  • Enters drug information into the pharmacy computer to establish patient regimens.
  • Purchases pharmaceuticals and stocks the pharmacy and ancillary departments.
  • Communicates drug information with nursing staff.
  • Demonstrates competency in pharmaceutical care and safety procedures.
  • Works in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient environments.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Tech prepares medication, upon receipt of prescription, for use within the hospital. Enters drug information into pharmacy computer to establish patient drug regimes. Purchases pharmaceuticals and stocks pharmacy and ancillary departments with medications based on par levels. Communicates drug information with nursing staff.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
Minimum Experience: None
Required Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician, Texas Pharmacy Tech Registration required.
Required Licensure: None needed until certified
