Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily operations of floor stock and automated dispensing systems with accurate billing and medication safety compliance.

The role involves restocking, charging against patient profiles, monitoring order reports, and delivering medications in line with DEA and state regulations. You will also handle IV meds preparation and proper disposal of expired drugs.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years experience (entry level).
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Registered Technician with State.
• CPhT.

Responsibilities

• Restocks floor stock/automated dispensing machines.
• Enters charges/credits against patient profile to ensure an accurate bill.
• Monitors medication order reports to assign medication to an automated dispensing machine.
• Delivers all medication in compliance with all DEA, DPH & State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Repackages bulk supplies of medications in unit-of-use packaging in accordance with all Federal USP & USP standards, prepares and delivers IV medications per Federal USP & USP standards, maintains records pertaining to IV admixtures, maintains cleanliness in sterile areas, and completes QA.
• Checks for expired medications within the pharmacy & automated dispensing cabinets and ensures that all expired/damaged medications are disposed of in accordance with RCRA, OSHA & NIOSH regulations.

Essential Core Responsibilities

Pay Range

$24.50 - $32.97 per hour. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range that the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
