Job summary

Compassus in Detroit seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists, prepare medications, maintain the compounding area, and monitor inventory.

You will perform IV admixtures, ensure sterile technique, label products, and maintain records in accordance with policies. Requirements include a high school diploma, IV experience preferred, and CPR/tech certificate where required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least one year of IV experience and/or training highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in maintaining federal, state, and local laws, accrediting body standards, and Policies and Procedures (P&Ps).
• Performs IV admixtures sterility testing in accordance with policy, maintains appropriate documentation.
• Assists the pharmacists in the preparation and labeling of medications as allowed by law.
• Prepares sterile parenteral solutions following aseptic technique and obtaining checks by pharmacists; matches codes and quantities from the compounding document; ensures correct labeling and product integrity.
• Conducts quality control and sterility testing.
• Assists the pharmacist in maintaining inventory levels.
• Orders, receives and stores medication and supplies; performs physical inventories.
• Maintains pharmacy records and required dispensing logs; tracks DME and equipment.
• Cleans work areas and communicates with healthcare team; participates in QA activities and meetings.
