Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington, GA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist with IV admixtures, unit-dose syringes, and chemotherapy preparation in critical care and OR areas.

The role supports stock management, follows state and federal regulations, and collaborates with pharmacy and technical staff to define best practices. Prior IV admixture experience and active Pharmacy Technician registration are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Licenses: current registration with state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician; PHRMTECH-R required.
• Certifications: PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admixture of medications to IV solutions.
• Prepare unit dose syringes and chemotherapy medications.
• Compound solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Work with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice.
• Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
