Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support IV admixtures and preparation of unit-dose syringes and chemotherapy medications. The role includes compounding medications used in critical care and OR satellite areas, and maintaining stock levels in assigned zones.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with prior IV admixture experience preferred and active state Pharmacy Technician registration.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) upon hire required.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admixtures medications to IV solutions.
• Prepare unit-dose syringes and chemotherapy medications; compound solutions/medications for critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Follow written procedures and state/federal regulations; collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to define best practices.
• Perform Pharmacy Technician duties as needed.
