Job summary

The Pharmacy Technician In Training at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND supports pharmacists with dispensing, inventory, and clerical tasks. The role involves rotating through all pharmacy areas, coordinating medication delivery across the organization, and maintaining accurate records under supervision.

This position requires obtaining a Tech‑in‑Training license within two weeks and the CPhT credential within three months, plus a valid ND driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must obtain ND Tech‑in‑Training license within two weeks of start date.
• Must obtain a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential within 3 months of start date.
• Current students must obtain ND Tech‑in‑Training license within two weeks of hire; graduates must have Tech‑in‑Training license prior to start and obtain PTCB within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Rotates through all work areas of the pharmacy.
• Coordinates automated and non‑automated medication dispensing systems and cart fill activities to provide efficient medication inventory control.
• Compounds pharmaceutical products such as ointments, creams and other medications according to rules and regulations.
• Responsible for sterile compounding activities in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Completes pharmacist‑supervised clinic duties as allowed by licensure and as assigned by the supervising pharmacist.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
