Job summary

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II for a PRN role. You will compound and dispense medications, maintain drug inventory, and update patient records under pharmacist supervision.

The role involves preparing sterile products, chemotherapy and hazardous drugs, and handling controlled substances with proper documentation. Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of related pharmacy tech experience is required.
• 3 months sterile product compounding experience is preferred.
• ASHP Sterile Preparation Institutional Training Certification or similar is preferred.
• PTCB Certification is preferred.
• State Board of Pharmacy Registration, as applicable by state, is required.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders requested by physician or pharmacist, and deliver to patient care and other areas.
• Prepare sterile products, chemotherapy and hazardous drugs, and parenteral products.
• Dispense controlled substances with proper documentation; count discrepancies and report any suspected diversions to the pharmacist.
• Ensure there is an adequate stock of medications and supplies, according to established policies and procedures.
• Assist ordering; receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and related supplies in the appropriate locations, rotating stock and replacing outdated and unusable drugs.
• Pick up orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
• Organize and prioritize work assignments; respond timely to urgent and routine requests.

Job Summary and Qualifications
