Job summary

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to join our pharmacy team. You will dispense medications, maintain inventory, and update patient records under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.

In this role you will fill medication orders, dispense controlled substances with proper documentation, ensure stock availability, and assist with receiving and storing supplies while prioritizing urgent requests to support safe patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of related experience preferred.
• Active registered pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern, as per state requirements, with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy is required.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications, maintain drug inventory, and update patient records under pharmacist supervision.
• Fill medication orders requested by physicians or pharmacists and deliver to patients and other areas.
• Dispense controlled substances with proper documentation, count discrepancies, and report suspected diversions to the pharmacist.
• Ensure adequate stock of medications and supplies according to policies, procedures.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and related supplies, rotating stock and replacing outdated drugs.
• Pick up orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
• Organize and prioritize work assignments, responding timely to urgent and routine requests.
