Job summary

Cook Children's Retail Pharmacy seeks a pharmacy technician to assist pharmacists in delivering professional services to patients and staff. You will handle clerical duties such as recording, filing and reporting pharmacy activities and services, while performing technical tasks after gaining necessary skills under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Responsibilities include inventory management, ordering, non-sterile compounding and processing insurance claims.

Qualifications

  • High School or Equivalent Required.
  • Minimum 2 years of retail pharmacy experience with proficiency in medication preparation and dosage calculations, insurance processing, and inventory management.
  • Basic knowledge of math, metric system, chemistry, and medical terminology.
  • General knowledge of office procedures such as filing and record keeping.
  • Good telephone skills and good oral and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in providing professional pharmacy services to patients and staff.
  • Perform clerical tasks: recording, filing and reporting pharmacy activities and services.
  • Under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, perform tasks after gaining experience and necessary skills.
  • Competent in pharmacy production areas: inventory management, ordering, non-sterile compounding, and insurance claim processing.
