Job summary

HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital in Port Saint Lucie, FL is hiring a Pharmacy Technician II to compound and dispense medications, maintain inventory, and update patient records under the supervision of the pharmacist.

You will fill medication orders, prepare sterile products (including chemotherapy and hazardous drugs), dispense controlled substances with proper documentation, manage stock, and support ordering, receiving, and delivery to patient care areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3 months sterile product compounding experience is preferred.
• 1 year of related pharmacy tech experience is required.
• ASHP Sterile Preparation Institutional Training Certification or similar is preferred.
• PTCB Certification is preferred.
• State Board of Pharmacy Registration, as applicable by state, is required.

Responsibilities

• You will fill medication orders requested by physician or pharmacist, and deliver to patient care and other areas.
• You will be responsible for preparing sterile products, chemotherapy and hazardous drugs, and parenteral products.
• You will dispense controlled substances with proper documentation; counting discrepancies and reporting any suspected diversions to the pharmacist.
• You will be responsible for ensuring there is an adequate stock of medications and supplies, according to established policies and procedures.
• You will assist ordering; receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and related supplies in the appropriate locations, rotating stock and replacing outdated and unusable drugs.
• You will pick up orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
• You will be responsible for organizing and prioritizing work assignments; responding timely to urgent and routine requests.
