Job summary

HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support medication preparation, dispensing, and inventory management under pharmacist supervision. The role focuses on accurate record-keeping, sterile product handling, and timely delivery of medications to patient care areas.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and pharmacy tech experience with preference for ASHP sterile preparation certification or PTCB certification, plus state registration where required.

• 1 year of related pharmacy tech experience is required.
• 3 months sterile product compounding experience is preferred.
• ASHP Sterile Preparation Institutional Training Certification or similar is preferred.
• PTCB Certification is preferred.
• State Board of Pharmacy Registration, as applicable by state, is required.

Responsibilities

• You will compound and dispense medications, maintain drug inventory and accurately update patient records under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.
• You will fill medication orders requested by physician or pharmacist, and deliver to patient care and other areas.
• You will prepare sterile products, chemotherapy and hazardous drugs, and parenteral products.
• You will dispense controlled substances with proper documentation; counting discrepancies and reporting any suspected diversions to the pharmacist.
• You will be responsible for ensuring there is an adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
• You will assist ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and related supplies, rotating stock and replacing outdated drugs.
• You will pick up orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas during delivery rounds.
• You will organize and prioritize work assignments; respond timely to urgent and routine requests.

Job Summary And Qualifications
