Job summary

Elevance Health (Anthem) is hiring a Pharmacy Tech II for a hybrid role requiring in-office presence 1–2 days per week and a Monday–Friday 10:30 am–7:00 pm EST schedule. The candidate will verify member data, mentor staff, and collaborate with clinicians to support accurate benefits and contract interpretation.

The role requires an active license and pharmacy certification, a HS diploma or equivalent, and at least 2 years of pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Verifies member information and inputs data for the pharmacists.

Location:

Hybrid 1 - This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Work Shift:

Monday - Friday, 10:30 am to 7:00 pm during Eastern Standard Time.

How you will make an impact:

• Verifies member information and inputs data for the pharmacists.
• Serves as mentor for less experienced staff.
• Serves as department representative on intra-departmental initiatives.
• Assists in formal training of associates and process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts reviews by utilizing appropriate scripted algorithms in compliance with department guidelines and consistent with the members eligibility, benefits and contract.
• Develops working partnerships with physicians, healthcare service providers, and internal and external customers.
• Consults with clinical reviewers.
• Refers treatment plans to peer clinical reviewers in accordance with established criteria/guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

• Requires an active, professional license, State Pharmacy Technician Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) requirements, to practice as a Pharmacy Technician within the scope of practice in a state or territory of the United States.
• Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience ; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• Specialty Pharmacy Experience preferred.

Salary and Benefits:

• For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the pay* range for this specific position is $21.20/hr. to $33.24/hr.
• Location(s): California, Colorado.
